Leading Northern Ireland tool manufacturer and injection moulding company, IPC Mouldings (IPC), has been named Manufacturer of the Year at the First Trust Business Eye Small Business Awards on 2nd June, 2016.

Sponsored by Forde May Consulting, the Manufacturing Business of the Year Award recognised companies with strong leadership and direction, growth and expansion in export markets, a commitment to innovation and R&D along with superior customer care.

Operating from a 14,000 sq ft location and employing over 25 people in Carrickfergus, IPC is an AS9100 accredited provider of technical solutions for global industries, using advanced engineering polymers and processing techniques.

Joanne Liddle, Managing Director of IPC Mouldings, who picked up the award said: “We are absolutely delighted that we have won the Manufacturer of the Year Award at the First Trust Business Eye Small Business Awards. This last year has been a very busy year for the company and although there is no let up in sight, this award goes some way to recognising the hard work and effort we as a team have put in to making us a winning and successful company.

“It is great to be recognised in Northern Ireland for our commitment to innovation and R&D and exceeding customer expectations. Apart from being awarded the prestigious SC21 Bronze and EFQM Excellence Recognition in the last year, which are important in the aerospace sector, this is the company’s first business award, and hopefully it is the start of many more to come!”

Richard Buckley, Editor of Business Eye Magazine, said: “Congratulations to IPC Mouldings. This was a particularly difficult category to judge as there were some exceptional entrants that spanned the breadth of the manufacturing world, however, IPC’s dedication to R&D coupled with a great business model made the company a stand out winner in our eyes.”

The First Trust Business Eye Small Business Awards were held in the La Mon Hotel and saw some of Northern Ireland’s finest SMEs come together to celebrate small business across the region. It was a well attended event with nearly 400 people there.

Hoping to build on the company’s success to date in 2016, IPC will also be exhibiting at the Farnborough Internaional Airshow from the 11th and 17th of July.

Speaking ahead of the event, Joanne said ”2016 has been a very successful year todate in more ways than one and we are looking to capitalise on this at Farnborough International Air Show in July. We will be exhibiting alongside some of the very best of Northern Ireland’s aerospace sector but we go with the added bonus of being Manufacturing Business of the Year.”
