IPC Mouldings Supports 4C UR Future With Its Successful Live Careers Event

IPC MOULDINGS SUPPORTS 4C UR FUTURE WITH ITS SUCCESSFUL LIVE CAREERS EVENT

IPC Mouldings was delighted to support 4C UR Future with its successful LIVE career events, which took place across Northern Ireland in recent weeks. The events, which were aimed at year nine pupils, reached a wide number of students from various schools who had the opportunity to explore various local employers across different sectors.

The LIVE events encouraged the students to think about their own individual talents and helped to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and what impact these can have on their future careers.

Fun-filled and action-packed, the LIVE events offered an alternative approach to the average career and employer seminars, as it gave the young people an opportunity to take part in hands-on activities whilst interacting with employers from the various sectors. Different games and activities were carried out that were intended to challenge the pupils on different skills and sector areas such as design and construction, communication, event designing and planning, and food manufacturing.

Members of our team attended the LIVE events, offering an insight into the world of manufacturing and injection moulding, passing on their knowledge to the students that were in attendance.

Joanne Liddle, Managing Director of IPC Mouldings, spoke about the events saying, “The 4C UR Future LIVE events were unlike anything I’ve experienced before in terms of informing students of the career opportunities that were available to them. The interactive and engaging format of the events was really enjoyable, and our team loved the opportunity to speak to the younger generation and give them first-hand experience of what a career in manufacturing looks like.

“IPC is passionate about training the next generation of engineers and this aligns with what 4C UR Future is trying to achieve. It’s great to see such a beneficial initiative in place, and I’m delighted that we have the opportunity to be involved.”

4C UR Future is an industry led social enterprise founded by engineer and business leader, Rose Mary Stalker. Rose Mary is passionate about ensuring the younger generation understands the importance of developing and utilising their talents, and how they can use this to empower them with their career choices.

The aim of the organisation is to assist year nine students to make better informed career choice before deciding on their GCSE subjects.

Managing Director of 4C UR Future, Rachel Doherty spoke about the organisation saying, “4C UR Future’s approach to careers inspiration and support is innovative, collaborative, and inclusive at its core. Our game-changing methods aim to empower young people to make more informed decisions about their education pathway and future career choices, and to better prepare our young people for the future world of work.”

“Our long-term vision is to significantly scale the delivery of our LIVE events and develop an innovative Careers Portal for Northern Ireland, to ensure no young person is left behind.”

IPC Moulding has always placed importance on inspiring the forthcoming generation of talent within the STEM field – offering exposure through apprenticeship programmes as well as school and university programmes. Working alongside 4C UR Future as one of their gold sponsors and contributing to successful events such as their LIVE event, is another way in which we at IPC can secure a future for our industry.
